Hi, my name is Frank, and I am a martial arts enthusiast. I was born in Soul Korea and started Tae Kwon Do when I was 4 ½-years-old. I got my red belt, before I moved to the states in 1978. I didn't start studying martial arts again until High School where I joined the wrestling team. As a Jr. I started learning martial arts again in a studio that taught multiple styles of martial arts. There I was introduced to Akido, Judo, Kung fu, and martial arts weapons.
Because I had no source of income at the time, I became an indentured servant to the dojo and started to spend a great deal of time there. Before long, I was spending full days there especially during summers. Helping around the dojo by cleaning up, answering phones, and helping to teach classes. I had my black belt in 2 years. At 19 I had my own Martial Arts Studio, in Pomona CA with 2 partners. There is nothing like leading martial arts classes to teach leadership and boost your confidence. This is where I went from being one of the crowd to a leader.
Presently my base style is Shotokan, (Okinawa Karate) and I incorporate elements of Aikido, Judo, American Boxing, Mui Tai Kick boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi and Grappling. I also teach Bo (Staff), Katana (Samurai Sword), Cane, Sai, Nunchuku.
I live and teach out of my home in North East San Antonio, (1604 and O'Connor Rd).
And teach group classes at Helotes Hills United Methodist Church. (1604 and Bandera Rd).
Drop by on Monday or Wednesday at 13222 Bandera Rd. Helotes TX 78023 to see group classes in action. Or call for more information. Private lessons can be scheduled at your convenience.
I am the son of a preacher, and am myself in the ordination process in the United Methodist Church. I am working on becoming a Chaplain in the Army and teach Martial Arts as a Discipleship Ministry. I am married with 3 children. I excel in counseling and preaching, build outdoor furniture with recycled wood, and am also exceptional at origami.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
Many Blessings,
Frank
